Agave Bandido: A New Chapter in Wellen Park

The Mexican concept Agave Bandido opened its fifth location at 19830 West Villages Parkway in Wellen Park on September 1, 2026. Designed as an indoor-outdoor experience, it pairs a spacious patio with a tequila bar and a menu built around fresh, bold flavors. For residents of Wellen Park and the growing Venice corridor, it brings a polished, event-driven dining room right to the heart of the community, the kind of place you can visit on a Friday night or take guests when they come to see your new home.

Whit's Frozen Custard Lands on Siesta Key

Over toward the islands, Whit's Frozen Custard opened on Siesta Key, a locally owned custard shop that has quickly earned a spot in the September dining conversation. Siesta Key is best known for its beach, but the village is quietly building a lively food scene, and a walkable frozen-custard stop fits it perfectly. It is a lovely little addition for families and for anyone who believes a day at the beach should end with a sweet treat.

Texas Roadhouse: A Return Worth Watching

One of the most anticipated stories of the fall is the possibility of Texas Roadhouse returning to Sarasota County. The steakhouse chain was announced in June 2026 as being considered for the developing Venice Crossing Commercial Center in north Venice. As of now it is still in the planning and announcement stage, not yet open, but the prospect has local families excited, since they currently drive to Sarasota or Fort Myers for that experience.
