The Siesta Key Crystal Classic and a Centennial Venice: November 2026 on the Gulf Coast

Intricate sand sculpture of a sea creature on a Gulf Coast beach at golden hour

November is when the Gulf Coast settles into its most festive mood, and this year the calendar is extraordinary. On Siesta Key, the world-class Crystal Classic sand-sculpting festival returns for four days of master craftsmanship, while the city of Venice marks its centennial with a year of celebration that reaches its peak this month. Here is my guide to the November 2026 events worth putting on the calendar in Sarasota and Venice.

The Siesta Key Crystal Classic: November 13 through 16

The Siesta Key Crystal Classic International Sand-Sculpting Festival runs November 13 through 16, 2026, on Siesta Beach, and it is simply one of the finest events on Florida's Gulf Coast. Twenty-four master sand sculptors from around the world spend two days building monumental works on the famous quartz-crystal sand, then those sculptures stand for the weekend. Expect the Quick Sand speed-carving competition, an amateur contest where anyone can try, live music, and food vendors along the beach. The highlight for many is Sculptures After Dark on Saturday night, when the sand art is lit up after sundown, and it is as close to gallery-quality art on a beach as you will ever see.

A few practical notes: arrive early on Saturday and Sunday, because the beach lots and Siesta Village fill fast. Bring cash for parking and the craft vendors, and plan to stay for the sunset, which is spectacular behind the finished sculptures. This is a family-friendly event that works for every age.

Venice Turns 100: A Centennial Year to Celebrate

The city of Venice was founded in 1926, which makes 2026 its centennial year. The Venice Museum's exhibition, "Venice Turns 100: Celebrating the City on the Gulf's Centennial," is on view at the Venice Museum on Nassau Street and traces how a planned Northern Italian-inspired community on the Gulf became the town it is today. If you are considering buying in Venice, this exhibit is the fastest way to understand the city's character, its architecture, and why the historic district looks the way it does. It is also genuinely moving for anyone who has watched this town grow.

A Full Weekend Calendar in Venice

Venice's downtown is busy all month. The 38th Annual Downtown Venice Art Festival takes over West Venice Avenue on October 31 and November 1, with more than 100 juried artists showing work over the weekend. The Downtown Venice Halloween Strut returns on October 31 at 4 p.m., with trick-or-treating along Tampa and Venice Avenues for the kids.

Veterans Day weekend brings Vets Rock the Gulf Coast to Centennial Park on November 7, a free evening honoring veterans with live music. The Venice Concert Band performs its November concert at the Venice Performing Arts Center on November 9. And the month closes with the holiday season officially starting: The Mayor's Hometown Christmas on November 27 and the Venice Holiday Parade on November 28, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, down historic West Venice Avenue.

Sarasota's November: Medieval Fairs and a Living Arts Festival

North of Venice, Sarasota County is just as full. The 22nd Annual Sarasota Medieval Fair runs Saturdays and Sundays from November 7 through December 6 at the Woods of Mallaranny in Myakka City, with full-contact jousting, human combat chess, and themed weekends that families adore. The Living Arts Festival, November 8 through 15, brings performances, visual art, dance, and music to venues across Sarasota, Bradenton, and Venice, so there is almost certainly a show near you.

Why November Is the Best Month to Visit or View

For buyers considering a move to the Gulf Coast, November is the month to visit. The weather is perfect, the crowds are lighter than January and February, and these festivals show the area at its most charming. If you are thinking about a home here, plan a November trip, see the Crystal Classic, walk historic Venice during its centennial year, and let yourself feel what everyday life on the Gulf Coast really looks like.

I would love to host you on a visit and pair your tour of homes with the neighborhood festivals along the way. With 24 years of real estate experience and a deep love for this coast, I'll help you find a home you'll love waking up in every day. Reach out anytime, I'd love to hear from you.
